Nexus is a bold, vibrant, and energetic painting I created through layers and layers of expressive movement coupled with deliberate detailing. This work began as a dance with unconventional painting tools-actually all of them came from my kitchen! I started with translucent tones of cardamom, cinnamon, turmeric, and raspberry. (YUM!) These are visible as texture in the underlayer and informed the progress of this work.
• Medium: enamel, acrylic, and graphite on canvas
Nexus is a manifestation of movement and energy, to be sure. I spread blocks of color across and around the canvas, paying attention to balance and harmony within the color cacophony. To counterbalance the larger zones, I added detail and texture with white and gold. I worked to have this large work evoke joy and adventure. LOVE rests proudly on NEXUS's flank because everyone needs a little love on their side. ;)
I understand that abstract art is subjective, and you, as the viewer, may read something different from this work. I love that! We all approach meaning with our unique personal experiences along for the ride. My only wish is that you are willing to let Nexus soak into your psyche.
I like to incorporate the edges of the canvas into my art; this expands the work, giving the viewer a different perspective from each side. I have signed this painting on the front, and the back contains the title, materials I used, my name, signature again, the year, and the dimensions.

Due to this painting's size, I offer three ways for you to receive your original art.
1. CRATE
It can be shipped in a wooden crate as it is. Additional shipping costs are associated with this option because of the size and weight of the packaging.
2. ROLLED IN A TUBE
It can be removed from the stretcher bars and rolled in a tube. This option is less expensive and will require a professional framer to restretch your painting for you.
3. LOCAL PICK-UP
I am happy to have you visit my studio to collect your new art.
