Beautiful speckled blue bowl with variegated light and dark shadows indicative of the mysterious night sky, this bowl is 9" wide and 4 1/2" tall. It stands proud on its base and features a swirl pattern in the bowl bottom interior. Looking at the night sky reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves and provides a sense of awe. I tried to capture that awe in this piece.

Always original, handmade ceramic art and functional ware

I started ceramics after completing a meaningful career in a technical world. The idea of expressing myself through art was a challenging new idea for me to explore, arising after taking a pottery class at my son's suggestion. I fell in love with the creative process converting clay into something useful, then discovered I had ideas to explore once I developed basic skills on the potter's wheel. Fifteen years later I find that I am deeply committed to this exploration and have learned the delight to find that others value what I create. An active skier, mountain hiker and traveler, I attempt to capture form, color, texture and shadows in my ceramic art. The flow of ideas is sparked from my outdoor adventures and observations. I hope you enjoy the results!
