Amuneal worked with their client, Mural Arts and the artist Virgil Marti to create a series of five, public sculptures. Each sculpture was inspired by the form of a shield and WWI naval technique known as dazzle camouflage. Fabricated from a combination of powder coated steel and mirror polished stainless steel, each sculpture stands over 16’ tall and gives viewers a different perspective depending upon their approach. It is installed in front of the new GlaxoSmithKline building in the Navy Yard.
