Native Flower Mural - Street Murals

Here’s a mural I recently finished at The Groove Record Shop in Montague, MI. For this one, I wanted to focus on native flowers because I believe they are incredibly important for the local ecosystem. They support bees, butterflies, and other insects, and can improve soil health and water quality. Since they’re from the area, they are already conditioned to live in this environment without fertilizers or pesticides. Often times we view ourselves as separate from nature because we live in a human built world but we are nature ourselves and we are more connected with it than we might realize. I believe it is our duty to protect the natural world, support local ecosystems, and do everything that we can to ensure that it is protected for future generations of plants, animals, and humans alike. The flowers that are featured in this composition are all native flowers - Black Eyed Susan, Aster, Chicory, Prairie Coreopsis, and Wood Lily.
