The story:
@patmilbery has an incredible eye for creating art and also artists that should work together. When he reached out to me about a street art fest in Sand City, CA called @we.createart (near Monterey and Carmel) I didn’t even hesitate to say yes, painting by the beach? sign me up. Once he mentioned the artists that would be involved, I was even more invested (list below). What a beautiful crew of artists.
Pat and team connected me with an incredible artist that I had followed for quite awhile but never met, @caseykawaguchi from Denver. His mastery of Japanese characters has always blown my mind and to be able to watch him create it in person was amazing. Our idea was for me to do a full background in my geometric gradient style, merging our work around the character as a halo and Casey’s character literally guarding the wall.
Casey and I had only talked twice and emailed a few design ideas to each other before meeting for the first time at the wall we were about to create a massive piece on, it was a seamless adventure.
Thank you so much @torybelleci for believing in our work and vision for your space ✌️❤️
Big thanks to @patmilbery @hunterella @sandcityca and the entire neighborhood for taking care of us for and creating a wonderful space for us to paint 🙏
Big thanks to Kobra Paint & Mad Tasty for keeping us creating!
Thank you for seeing the value and importance of public art✨
