I feel that to dine at Baar Baar is to enjoy a full sensory experience. Theirs is an Indian cuisine that both awakens the palate and enlivens the soul. When tasked with conceptualizing their new mural, I sought to honor the spirit of Baar Baar while appealing to the customer’s primal instincts. I let myself be guided by the energy of seduction, and what emerged was the visage of a beautiful woman. Her spearing eyes are a reflection of the customer’s hunger and willingness to dance with fire. Stylistically, the mural was conceived in the style of Old World Fresca, and richly layered over the rustic walls. Her face is deliberately faded on the rough stone surface, a dream that is still vivid in your mind the next day. The color palette is comprised of all the rich spices of India: ginger, tumeric, cumin, cardamom, tamarind, and saffron. The mural took form very easily, perhaps a testament to her rightful home here. When the main chandelier was installed, it cast the most beautiful halo all around her. I knew my work was done.
