Mike Pacheco created this Bolivian indigenous character, with a symbolic message in his hat related to illegal aliens / imigration on the border. The 3D glasses to complement video work by Marco Vera and students and Fernando Corona creating a mural reflecting themes of community and boundary on the Corcoran Gallery 31 walls for the exhibition Secondary Inspection: Una Seleccion del Arta de Baja California. This mural was at Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at the George Washington University.

The work of Michael Pacheco would be described as a mesh of Hollywood style and corporate influence. Working with and being personally trained by phenomenal art directors and illustrators has given him the experience necessary to tackle any project that comes his way.

Having grown up 20 minutes outside of Washington, DC in the Virginia suburbs, the nation’s capital has always held a place in his heart. It’s a unique area with multicultural flavor mixed with metropolitan proximity that gives him a creative and polished edge.

Michael began his studies at VCU, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA then transferring to Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA. In 2003 he received a BFA in Communication Arts from Otis, with a focus on Illustration.

...From there he decided to stay and enter the Hollywood creative field of art and design.

Immersed in the capital of the entertainment industry, Michael entered into movie marketing for clients like Nickelodeon, Paramount, Lionsgate, Disney and Warner Brothers.

After almost 10 years of living in Los Angeles and having a baby girl,
Michael and his wife decided to return home to the DC area. Currently he freelances with agencies and clients from both the east and west coast.
He also teaches Digital Design, Entertainment Design and Digital Illustration at GW Corcoran School of the Arts & Design in Washington, DC.

Michael Pacheco's professional background accounts for conceptual design in web animation, print advertisement, promotional items, brochures for corporate clients and proposals for government agencies. Preparing final files for print and web, style guides, package design, apparel, illustration, team collaboration and quick turn-around are all areas of his expertise. Michael also has experience remotely managing and collaborating with clients on opposite sides of the coasts helping maintain each brand's quality from over 3000 miles away.
