One-of-a-kind brand new (not vintage) Mrirt Beni Ourain Rug made from organic wool sourced from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
The process to make one of these gorgeous rugs is not without much hard work. A tradition that spans 10,000 years. One rug can take up to 6-12 weeks to make, which doesn't include the tedious work of shearing up to 100 coats of sheep wool. The wool is thoroughly washed with spring waters, but don't be surprised if you find some straw of grass or grain here and there in your new rug. This just goes to show how organic the process actually is. The wool must dry in the summer sun, sometimes taking weeks depending on the weather. I personally love the use of spring waters and sun to clean, ensuring a truly organic process that has been proven to be a superior method for thousand of years. After about a month of weaving the rug, there is a final cleaning process where the rug dries in the pristine mountain air. Such a beautiful process that has been perfected by the Atlas mountain people.
Do your rugs shed?
There will be an slight initial shed over the first few weeks of use. We recommend just vacuuming the fibers directly on the rug. This will reduce the shed. After time the wool will settle and shedding will no longer be a concern.
How do I clean them?
If there has been a spill, try to treat it before it dries. Take a paper towel or rag to absorb the spill and then clean with a wool shampoo. For general cleaning, dry cleaning is recommended.
Are they safe for children and animals?
What's amazing about organic wool is it is resistant to bacteria and mites (same goes with our sheepskins). Also, organic wool doesn't release harmful vapors or contain heavy metals via chemicals that are commonly used in store bought rugs. Your children and animals will love the softness and warmth of natural wool, and you can feel comfortable knowing they aren't being exposed to harmful chemicals or rolling around in a rug full of dust mites!
How are they shipped?
Before shipping, each rug is vacuumed and cleaned. This ensures you receive a brand-new fully cleaned rug that is ready for your home and family to love. We ship via Fedex International to all countries, and you can expect delivery within 7-10 days after your order has shipped.
Do you offer returns?
If you are unhappy with your rug, we will gladly accept a return. But please be advised that you'll need to pay for the shipping cost associated with the return.
