Midnight Magnolia- sold - Paintings
Price $22,000
Creation: 6-8 weeks
80 x 48 x 3" deep sides
acrylic on wood panel
An ancient magnolia bough with goldfinches. At 100 billion years old, magnolias are the earliest flowering plants. They evolved before the bee and butterfly and to this day rely on a simpler process of pollination provided by beetles that feed on their protein rich pollen. Evergreen magnolias provide year-round shelter for songbirds and other small vertebrates. Woodpeckers and other species feed on their seeds.
The 3" deep sides on all my works are a continuation of the painting. This makes the painting viewable from all perspectives. Framing is not necessary.
