Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus was the Roman emperor and is considered one of the most important philosophers in its history. He is heard for his great battles and for crossing the Danube.
Marcus Aurelius is famous for his 12-book "Ta eis Euton" (Reflections on Myself), which is influenced by Stoic philosophy, written in Greek. It became the symbol of the Golden Age of the Roman empire.
He was elected future co-emperor before he was 17, but did not ascend to the throne until he was 40. Hardworking, intelligent, and dignified, Marcus did not want to be contented with traditional Greek and Latin education and the art of rhetoric, so he clung to the "Diatribai" (Lecture Notes) of the stoic philosopher Epictetus. Philosophy became Marcus' main concern after that.
-The original is displayed in the Ephesus Museum.
-Produced from pressed marble powder.
-Produced from the original molds of the works from the museum.
