Abstract landscapes with an emphasis on texture. Inspired by Mother Nature.

An LA based and Southern California native, I enjoy using many mediums and styles, creating and appreciating the artistry in all its many forms. But what really resonates with me the most at the moment are the contemporary pieces that are created using mixed media; gritty natural elements with fluid paints, creating an effect that
mimic growth in nature and space.

I like to think of art as a form of thought provoking therapy for the observer, so implementing elements of grounding earth and organic textures that you can see and feel are what I am drawn to most. What are we other than living organisms floating in an ever expanding universe? Where was our origin and where do we go from here?

As I try to imagine what that could look like, I am drawn to images of nature and its repetition intrigues me. The spidering branches from the deep roots to the tops of a tree, the way the retreating waves on a beach leave the same branch-like forms in the sand, and the way the
rain leaves those same impressions in the hills of mountains. The structure of our irises and the wrinkles on our hands. These natural formations even appear in the galaxy and across the universe. It is infinite and it is beautiful.

I feel a strong affinity to Mother Nature, even more so after becoming a mother myself. We are part of an endless cycle, and to some this may be daunting, but for me, to remember this envelops me in a calm I find so many of us need from time to time. With my paintings, I
strive to grasp that beauty and deliver that same blanket of calm to others.
