MAIN & HIGHLAND PARK - COMMUNITY MURAL - CHATTANOOGA, TN
What started out as an imagination going wild at the prospect of painting this wall, the one I pass by everyday, the one that has been neglected for so long, the one with so much potential to be something more than it was.

So after a year of passing by this wall, I decided to find out who owns the building, I thought it was abandoned but one day I saw someone walk inside, so I ran over to see if I could get more info on the place. It ended up not being abandoned but had a small mom and pop business running out of it. I told them about and showed them my mural work to see if they had any interest in getting one painting. A week went by and they reached out to give me the green light on painting the entire front of the building. I told them as long as I can paint whatever I want, then I could donate this piece and have the community help me bring it to life. I gathered up all the supplies needed, thanks to Sherwin Williams and Kobra Paint and got to work on the wall, not knowing if I would be the only one ending up painting this block long 2 story tall building, unless the word got out.

The word got out and about 30-40 people helped paint over the course of the week, a few hundred stopped by top say hi and others brought us drinks and snacks. It was a real community effort putting this together and creating a space no one even noticed before. With over 20 gallons of paint and 200 cans of spray paint, we created a massive geometric gradient wonderland and I hope this project inspires other people to look at their spaces, take pride in their community and uplift areas in need. There’s so much potential in the neglected.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT CAME OUT TO HELP PAINT, HONKED THIER HORN, YELLED COOL THINGS WHILE DRIVING BY AND TO ALL WHO STOPPED BY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT WE WERE DOING. THIS IS FOR YOU, THE COMMUNITY <3

SPECIAL THANKS TO KEN TABER FOR BEING THERE BEGINNING TO END.

AND VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO SHERWIN WILLIAMS BRAINERD AND KOBRA PAINT FOR DONATING ALL THE SUPPLIES TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Large scale murals, public art, organic linework, geometric gradients, font styles and lettering.

Originally from Los Angeles, Nathan relocated to Nashville when he was 11 years old and endured a major culture shock. Embracing the transition between cities through painting graffiti and exploring new territories through skateboarding travels, motivated Nathan artistically.

In the late 90’s he drew inspiration from these passions, using color and form to play with perspective. Positioned at the intersection of abstractionism and street art, Nathan has transitioned this style into the studio and on multi story buildings across the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to mural work, Nathan had an extensive career in experiential marketing, promoting and producing concerts / festivals and events for

Live Nation, Golden Voice (Coachella), AEG Presents and Disney, in which he marketed & promoted over 5000 shows over the course of 15 years.

Nathan has created over 150 large scale commissioned murals for both communities around the country and also for brands such as Red Bull, Wrangler, Patagonia, Top Golf, WeWork, Google, Spotify, to name a few, the goal has always been the same since day one, to bring people, places and communities together through public art, transforming and creating new spaces where there were none before.

Nathan primarily paints large scale public art on the streets, as well as indoor private commissions and is currently based in Chattanooga, TN.
