Walnut is one of the most gorgeous wood species native to North America. Its wood grains are mesmerizing, curling to and fro throughout the wood, sometimes shimmering and sometimes unraveling into waves around knots and burls.

The live edge is the outer portion of the tree, paler than the dark heartwood, and presenting a beautiful contrast of colors. The cross section of the tree used to make the bench is cut in such a way that the top and sides of the table join seamlessly to create a “waterfall” effect. This is where the grains of the wood flow up the side, around the corner, along the top, and back down the other side. The effect is so satisfying to look at.

This bench will add character to the space that it is in, drawing the attention of anyone who enters the room. The bench is sanded till it is silky smooth to the touch then finished an oil-wax finish.

Dimensions:

30” wide, ~12” deep, 18” tall.

The bench is finished with an oil + wax finish called Rubio Monocoat to protect and give a beautiful luster.

Crafted Glory creates functional and timeless furniture art

Creating with my hands has been a passion of mine since childhood. I have always been an avid tinkerer. I studied engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, then discovered woodworking when I moved into my home, had no furniture, and tried my hand at making a couple pieces. I fell in love with the process. Crafted Glory is the outpouring of my passion for beauty.
