This claro walnut live edge slab originates from the central coast of California, aged over 100 years. It was sustainably sourced from a walnut tree affected by root rot, which necessitated its careful felling by a local mill shop. The tree's unique character was meticulously preserved during this process. Following kiln drying, the tree was expertly slabbed into cookies, and our shop meticulously selected this particular slab for its natural beauty and distinctive character. To enhance its aesthetics, the natural void in the center was stabilized with black epoxy, perfectly complementing the tree's natural rings. These rings vividly depict the tree's lifespan, spanning over a century, with natural ebbs and flows.
