I spent the past month traveling through Maine, learning more about it's coasts, it's mountains, it's people, it's towns, villages and cities, to get a better sense of what life is like in that part of the world.
I was commissioned by the lovely and diverse city of Lewiston, a small mill town near Portland, to transform a 150ft long 2 story tall wall in the middle of downtown, an area with so much potential.
I felt like I met hundreds of people throughout the week, wanting to know more about what I was doing and curious to watch the progress. I love visiting towns that really want to make change and are putting great efforts towards building a better city for it's people. Thank you to everyone that stopped by to say hi, yelled nice things while driving by and stopped by multiple times to check up on my progress throughout the week.
I wanted this piece to bring vibrancy, movement and beauty to a space that hundreds of people walk by everyday. LA Arts mission is to engage and inspire a vibrant community through arts and culture. I can't wait to see what you all do with the city in the coming years.
If you're up that way, you can visit my piece at 124 Canal Street (corner of Chestnut and Canal) across from @arlin_graff 's beautiful Zebra.
THANK YOU:
