I do my collaging with a sewing machine. In this new work, the concept of family and family dynamics guides my work. I am interested in how we are connected, how we are individuals, and how together and apart we are something beyond the self. I use old and new artworks, found objects, and sometimes family letters. I repurpose them; cut them up, sew them together, giving them new life - much like the way a family changes over time.
This collage is on paper that is 15 x 20" and the image is 8 x 12". I started this collage with a print and I print on a larger paper to make the process easier. The paper margin is excessive so if you would like it trimmed to a specific size please request that option. I am happy to oblige!
