The KNITKNOTS collection features large-scale knot art pieces. The idea was developed out of a wish to incorporate my new interest – knitting – into my art.
Intrigued by the possibility to create my own ‘ropes’, I started knitting tubes and experimenting with different fillings. My objective was to create XXL ropes to make knots large enough to stand on their own. Classic macrame art uses hundreds of knots to create interesting patterns, essentially making the knots a tool. I wanted to shift all the focus on the knots themselves, making them the focal point.
Sutura is created with a beautiful Pink & Green yarn made from wool and alpaca fibers. It features two series of 5.5 square knots, sewn together.
