Abstract Oil & Mixed Media paintings inspired by both personal physical and spiritual journeys
Melanie was fortunate to travel both in the U.S. and in Europe while growing up; as well as spending time in Panama. She was introduced to new cultures, varied landscapes and artwork that peaked her own interest in art.
Melanie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Painting and a minor in Ceramics from Texas Tech University. Fortunate to study with painting with art professors who encouraged creative individualism and experimental painting, she had NO limits with access to other mixed media forms such as clay, metal, wood .... and whatever found objects peaked her interest! Melanie has also had opportunities to study with the university's guest artists and to participate in workshops, such as Taos, NM. Later in her career, Melanie met abstract painter, Tadashi Hawakawa and his mentorship breathed new energy and enthusiasm into Melanie's artwork, where she began sharing her artwork with the public on a larger scale.
Melanie resides in Colorado and currently shows her work at Mirada Fine Art Gallery in the Denver area; Faust Gallery in Santa Fe, NM; Moo Country in Nashville, TN and Red Lodge, MT.
