Ikebana Vase - Vases & Vessels
Unavailable
Inspired by Ikebana, the ancient Japanese art of flower arrangement. Ike, meaning “alive” or “arrange” and bana meaning ‘flower’ Ikebana is an art form that aims to challenge the western habits of casually placing flowers in a vase. The pattern of the circular openings located on the base and lid of the vase were inspired by a Yayoi Kusama painting called Infinity Dots. The vase has a number of circular openings which are strategically placed to create dynamic flowers arrangements, celebrating colour, form and scale.
Unlike traditional ikebana vases, the circular openings are wider allowing for display of small individual bunches instead of a single stem.
The Vase also celebrates materiality and comes in a variety of finishes from electro plated steel, polished stainless steel, brass coated steel and clay.
