ICED CARAMEL NO. 2 - ORIGINAL
ORIGINAL ARTWORK
Mixed Media on Paper
Art Size: 5.5" x 8.5"
Mounted Size: 9" x 12"

Composed of a soft gray, white and black palette, this original is anchored with an abstracted metallic gold horizon.

This original painting was created on Strathmore 300gsm acid-free paper and then mounted to handmade 100% cotton, acid-free handmade paper with natural deckle edges. Signed in the lower right corner and on the back, this piece arrives unframed.

We recommend float mounting the artwork when framing to reveal the beautiful handmade nature of the paper. Pairs beautifully with “Iced Caramel No. 1”.

My process is a combination of conscious and subconscious exploration

Julia Contacessi explains her process of creating modern abstract art as a combination of conscious and subconscious exploration. With a focus on color, texture and composition, Julia strives to delivers an atmospheric, feel-good effect in every one of her pieces. The artistic influence of Helen Frankenthaler and her belief that there is “no formula” and the artist should “let the picture lead you where it must go,” are principles that Julia embraces. In addition, finding beauty in the contrasting nature of things, much like artist Patricia Larsen, is what Julia seeks through her work.
