The new "Monolith" series of hempcrete furniture was created as a way to emphasize and promote hempcrete as a material solution for the environmental catastrophe we face as a culture. This first edition of furniture is designed to be simplistic yet elegant to limit the environmental impact as much as possible. They are made entirely of hemp and lime binder with domestically sourced hardwoods and finished with a completely natural and biodegradable topcoat. Our goal is to reduce physical and toxic waste entering the environment.
By supporting our business you will be contributing to the local Pennsylvania industrial hemp economy, which is a crucial component to the residential building industry. We believe that by using hempcrete in our homes as well as the building material for the homes themselves, we can help people live in a healthier and more harmonious way with nature.

HEMPCRETE is a light weight, carbon negative material that can act as an eco-friendly alternative to concrete. It is composed of industrial hemp shiv, lime binder and sand, which can be specially tailored for particular applications. Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. A list of finishes and colors are available upon request.
It is our first line of furniture and home objects that can be discarded without worry or guilt of polluting the environment or contributing to landfills. Each piece is designed and handcrafted to be heirloom quality while also simultaneously being conscious of the end-of-life cycle that all material objects meet, no matter how far into the future this might be. This furniture can be broken down and disposed of easily with small hand tools and left to decay back into the ground without consequence.
PROCESS: Our hemp furniture is made to order. The raw forms are plastered and polished by hand and each piece will vary slightly in its imperfections. Minimum lead times are 10-14 weeks depending on the time of year (summer / winter). Hempcrete must air dry slowly in order for the material to naturally carbonate by absorbing ambient CO2 and calcifying back into limestone. The process cannot be accelerated artificially.
