Different layers of time, dimension, and reality were more noticeable when The Big Pause occurred resulting in growth and realizations on different levels. This is a photomontage created from my own photos taken in Portland, Oregon, and a nearly by Tulip Farm which allowed me to express the joy, loneliness, introspection as I did more things alone in 2020. This image is available as an aluminum print or as an archival pigment print on cotton rag paper. Read below for more detailed information:

The artwork is available in two formats:
1) PRINTED ON A METAL PANEL (ALUMINUM):
These will be produced as limited editions of 3 sizes (see below). Once the edition has been purchased, no other pieces will be made in this medium at this size.

Here industrial UV-coated inks are printed directly on aluminum, creating a deeper, more translucent layered look which also allows the imagery's detail to pop so well off the surface. In this piece, I chose a white background to allow the vivid colors to reflect off the piece.

This piece is ready to hang with a framed, wire-backed hanger. It floats 1/2 inch off the wall. Below see the Left Room photo to see how it looks.

Metal Panel Prints are made to order. Please allow 10-14 days for shipping.

11x14 Edition = 8 Total
16x20 Edition = 8 Total
24x30 Edition = 5 Total

2) ARCHIVAL PAPER PIGMENT PRINT:
I use Museum-grade, 100% cotton rag, 250 gsm paper. Printed with an Epson SureColor P5000 and 11 UltraChrome HDX Pigment Inks that ensure visibility of the smallest details, and colors that appear as fresh as day one, even after 100 years. These are open editions.

Below see the Right Room photo to see how it looks framed.

Framing is not included.

Each print is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Archival Prints are made to order. Please allow 7-10 days for shipping.

Capturing the Spirit of Community – Exploring the creativity, history, and culture that evolves in urban centers.

Beth Kerschen is a multi-disciplinary artist using photomontage to create cityscapes that reflect on community, culture, and urban life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, as one of the first students to exhibit digitally created art. Beth moved to Boston, MA to work for Polaroid then worked for ten years as a graphic designer with several creative firms in Boston, eventually moving to Portland, Oregon in 2008. Since that time, Kerschen has committed her life to capturing vast urban landscapes into one tangible image. She uses her photography, design, and illustration skills to turn urban landscapes into fantastical images filled with meaning and nostalgia. Her art explores and reflects on connections held by the landmarks, buildings, signage, graffiti, people, and events that are reflected in urban life and urban culture. She was awarded a Professional Development Grant from RACC (‘15) and a public art installation commission at the Portland International Airport (‘16). Her work has been held in a number of corporate and city collections, including two terms in the Mayor of Portland’s office. She has done a number of installation pieces for numerous residential buildings bolstering local identity. Clients include JupiterNEXT Hotel, the City of The Dalles, Heathman Hotel, Downtown Oregon City Assoc., Port of Portland, IFC (Portlandia t.v. series), REACH Community Development, Weird Portland United, and Facebook.
