White relief, painted paper clay on a plain canvas base, captured in a white wooden frame.
This work is inspired by time. I see an impression of a flow pattern around 9 stones, carved out of rock by millions of years of erosion. Motion frozen in time. A gentle reminder that even the simplest rock is the result of billions of years of geological processes.
The edge was finished in such a way that the base of the artwork resembles a solid plate of chalkstone, cut out of a rock in one piece and fitted on the canvas.
The work comes to life in grazing light, when the shadows of the paper shapes amplify the pattern.
Dimensions are including the frame. The work is equipped with hanging hardware (steel wire). The work is not heavy, just 7 kilograms.
