This landscape captures my reverie. I sculpted Flotsam's clouds to emulate the roll of the sea above a placid meadow.
• Medium: finger-painted oil on canvas
I love to sculpt the oil paints with my fingers! The colors blend and meld together, creating a color shift and creating depth. Flotsam is a dreamy landscape from my imaginings. I live by the sea and love the epic waves left from a raging storm at sea. This abstracted landscape blends realism with abstraction in deliciously thick swaths of color.
I like to incorporate the edges of the canvas into my art; this expands the work, giving the viewer a different perspective from each side. I have signed this painting on the front, and the back contains the title, materials I used, my name, signature again, the year, and the dimensions.
