About: Genuinely one of the most beautiful and decorative pieces available today. This piece is the kind of rug you will find in the library of Ralph Lauren, or the cabin of Ernest Hemmingway. These pieces are the ones that aristocrats and art enthusiasts alike look for and sought after. These, of course, are the finely woven and artistic expression of master weavers of the greatest rug weaving country in the world. Not only are the colors so vast; the teals and aquas, earthy camel and saffrons, the blush and watermelon hues, the icy blues and the peacock blues, strawberry reds antique beige and so many others. The design itself is iconic and ancient, Harshang motif throughout is the specific multi-sized floral motifs linked together with the vine and stems. In this piece in particular the flowers and vines seem to be woven so spontaneously, so artistic, and oh so soulful! The details are incredible in this rug - you see it in person and can feel the mystique, the energy, and the true art embodied by the weaver. Her masterpiece is felt with the eyes, but only after the subconscious - you will feel it in your gut. This is what real art does, especially in the rug world. Your knowledge of rugs, fine art, or antique don't have to be tremendous to know when you're looking at something special, and this piece is a great example. You cannot achieve this level of clarity in the motifs and design if the knots are not small, and you cannot weave this many small knots in a rug of this size if you aren't a very skillful weaver - time, wisdom, energy, expertise, love, and commitment are just some of the ingredients in this beauty! Along with, of course, high-quality sheep wool, natural dyes from the flowers, minerals, and plants in the area. This piece has a nice flobby handle like most pieces from this village do, and sensational and natural abrash and color variations due to the small-batch dyes are to be discovered somewhere new every time you look at this piece! Can you tell I love this rug?! I know it will go to someone who will truly cherish it the way it ought to, the way the weavers wanted.

This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available.

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
