This Floorlamp Porcelain has porcelain lampshade with a recessed opening in the bottom. It is attached to a beech-wood stand which in turn is rooted in a concrete base. The stand leans back slightly, giving the lamp a pleasant, relaxed appearance.
The clear forms of the lamp have been modeled in clay by hand, thus receiving its characteristic somewhat irregular surface and form. The closed form (except for recessed hole in the bottom) initially seems solid, monumental. Then follows the unexpected transparency, where the material comes to life by the light.
The lamps are manually produced in the studio. In the process each casting gets its own ‘drawing’ that consists of drips, drops, air bubbles, pinholes or other irregularities, which is only revealed by light. In addition the finishing and the firing process affect the final form. Each lamp is therefore unique.
