Anodised Aluminium canopy. The canopy screen forming the artwork Fire Origins for the Bushfire Centre of Excellence features Western Australian birds, Kwetlabur-the Collared Sparrowhawk and Wata -the pigeon. These birds are central to the Bindjareb people’s fire creation story and are illustrated and interpreted by Karrie-Anne Kearing Salmon and overlaid alongside textures of the natural landscape, bird wings and feathers by Penelope Forlano. Created in anodised aluminium it forms a canopy over a gathering space creating dappled shade throughout the day.
The fine perforation design was created by Penelope and Karrie-Anne for the Josh Byrne and Associates designed canopy structure.
