Latex/Acrylics on Painted Stucco
For a local flower shop, I chose giant red poppies and clematis. The poppies are a flower worn in support of the military and are a symbol of remembrance, so it connects well to our military town. Clematis flowers symbolize beauty of ingenuity and mental strength which connects with what goes on inside the shop and what they contribute to our community.
The addition of the bee is one that is important to business owner Shannon Pallin and is included in the logo that I designed for her years ago so I included it in the design.
The bee has a specific role in nature pollinating other plants; it's necessary to the on-going life cycle of many crops. It has a symbolic value of providence and is an emblem of abundance, persistence, industry, communication, teamwork and fruitfulness...All traits which flowers in general and this flower shop embodies.
The bee's honeycomb represents the Heart Chakra and life's sweetness.
