Walnut and Ash trestle table. Two book matched slabs of Walnut create a unique and eye catching top. Fitted with butterfly keys to stabilize and character in the wood. These are either don’t on top for aesthetic or on the bottom as per the clients choice. This table can come in a range of sizes. This one if and 8’ long top from 39” to 43” wide depending on the live edge pieces used.
The base is solid Ash with a Walnut stretcher. Playing with pleasing curves the base in itself is a work beauty allowing the lines to carry the focus upward to the top providing balance and a lightness. The base is made with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and fastened with Walnut pins. The two trestle ends are held together by maple Burl tusks which are wedged in mortises and friction fit. No fasteners except to hold the top to the base. The whole table breaks down flat!
Our take on a classic design.
Note-the top will vary as each slab is unique and there in is the beauty.
