Eye on Art Oil Abstract, 50 x 40, Gallery Wrap Canvas
“Abstraction allows man to see with his mind what he cannot see physically with his eyes….Abstract art enables the artist to perceive beyond the tangible, to extract the infinite out of the finite. It is the emancipation of the mind. It is an exploration into unknown areas.” ― Arshile Gorky
Abstract art is viewed very differently from representational art. Abstract art is much more personal not only to its creator, but for the viewer as well. It is fluid and definitely open to interpretation. You may look at a piece I have created and feel things that I didn’t necessarily intend for you to feel, or that I don’t feel about my work. One of the things I like about abstract art is, there is no right or wrong way to interpret it.
Abstract art is all about your perspective, your eye on art. Abstract art engages the emotion of the viewer, free of the distractions that painting immediately recognizable objects presents.
“I understand abstract art as an attempt to feed imagination with a world built through the basic sensations of the eyes.” – Jean Helion
This bright oil painting titled “Eye on Art” is all about the audience’s eye. Eye on Art involves implication, suggestion and mystery, rather than obvious description for it is only your eye that determines the beauty of the colors and forms.
