Hello, welcome to StainsAndGrains, custom compositions in wood.
Name: Extraction Protocol, Bolivian Rosewood
Availability: Original has sold, these are now made to order.
Size: 50"x32"
Price: $9500
Free Shipping to the lower 48 United States (for international shipping quotes please contact me with your shipping destination)
This piece represents yet another shift in the evolution of my style, another expansion of my catalog. This will be the first in a series featuring natural exotic woods, and comes from meditations on how mankind interacts with the world around him, what our nature is, exposed and expressed by how we utilize and handle the natural world.
The exotic species of wood in the middle is Bolivian Rosewood. The architecture of the holder and arrangement of dowels is meant to indicate mans extraction of the natural world, our harnessing of beauty and captured swirling energy for our own purposes.
It is perhaps ironic that I am making this statement while effectively harnessing this wood for my own commercial purposes, such is life :)
Even though it looks like multiple parts of this might be metallic, the entirety of it is wood and paint.
This is going to be a one of a kind piece, due to the extremely unique nature of this piece of Bolivian Rosewood. It can be used as a starting point for a different custom piece, but this particular piece will not be recreated, so the owner will own a truly one a kind, unique item.
