Robert has always been a passionate creative individual. He was born and attended k-12 in Mount Vernon, New York. His first major award was as a high school senior winning first prize in a local art contest. He is a graduate of Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx, New York with a degree in Studio Art. His specialty was printmaking. Bob uses all the skills of his artistic training to create mixed medium works as well as carvings. He worked as an art teacher in the New York Public school system as both a general education teacher and as an art teacher. " It was a joy to see young minds problem solving and using art as a means to the end product". He integrated art into his teaching curriculum stating, " Children like hands on experiences and tended to invest more energy into their task. Bob has also conducted art workshops for private organizations and summer programs in America and well as in Europe.. His art has been published in books ( Brooklyn On My Mind ) on book covers ( Multiculturalism) and publication's in Germany. Robert has also done public speaking for John Jay College in Manhattan, Bronx Community College, the national Conference of Artist and a host of other venues. He is a member of the WEUSI Artist Collective, S.P.A.C.E. and the NCA.
Bob is currently living in Triuggio, Italy partly due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the love of the land. He continues to create art and shows his work locally with two art groups. " Art is what I do ".
