We often overlook our surroundings, as we pass by our built environment every day, focused on where we need to go next. Architecture has become my metaphor to connect with people. I invite the viewer into the scene, where they can pause from their everyday life, and hopefully feel present while experiencing the potential of opening up to the vast blue sky.
This artwork was built to be showcased at the Dwell on Design Show in Los Angeles. I designed a vertical sculpture with immense depth for the viewer to feel they were walking into the artwork. The scene is of the historic section of Los Angeles. The blue sky was the most important to capture the light and spaciousness of the composition.
