A project inspired by ceramic handcrafted head vases from Sicily which are called 'Teste di Moro' (Moor's Head).
Our collection translates these masterpieces from ceramic into leather as a tribute to Sicilian ceramic maestros and to our homeland, with vibrant colours and perky elements.
This eccentric vase cover consists of two parts that represent the faces of two lovers - a Moorish man and a young Sicilian maiden from a bloody love and revenge story from the medieval legend. This craft is associated with Eryx, as known as Erice today, is a medieval town on the hill on the west of Sicily. From the Greek mythology in the ancient time, there lived some gigantic figures called Cyclops. They had only one eye and they were the guardians of the little town.
To enjoy the charm of 'Eryx' have your plant in the vase ready. Assemble the 2 faces of the leather 'Testa di Moro' with the 2 decorative Sicilian amphoras by snap buttons and surround the pot as a decorative cover. Or assemble the leather bottom too and 'Eryx' can be used as a unique storage bin.
