Ecological Jenga - sold - Paintings
$ On Inquiry
48 x 36 x 3” acrylic on wood panel with 3" deep painted sides
This piece is about delicate natural balance. Patterns found in nature are stacked up like Jenga blocks. Geometric shapes in the background suggesting dynamic forces or motion represent variables that influence the balance of nature like human activities, climate change and invasive species. The natural patterns include sporangia ( the spore circles under fern leaves), elm bark beetle tracks on bark, living tortoise shell, geometric morphing of sedimentary rock, red elm bark and palm husk.
The 3" deep sides on all my works are a continuation of the painting. This makes the painting viewable from all perspectives. Framing is not necessary.
