Pressed flower petals on canvas (buttercups), polyurethane varnish
2022
H: 30” x W: 30” X D: 2”
Homage to Kasimir Malevitch's white on white (1918), a staple of the Suprematism movement, which had me stop painting when I first saw it at MoMA in NYC. The texture is created with real pressed buttercups gathered on Governors Island (NY).
