During the pandemic, Caroline has painted three murals in her and her husband's loft in the Arts District after moving from the Historic Core downtown in March. Caroline has been painting and drawing abstract elephants for the last ten years. Most of their frames are created subconsciously and once she notices their intended shape, their individuality becomes
more clear.
Olifanten translates to elephants in Flemish - her native language. Several pieces from different series include Olifant in the title. Recently, she discovered that there are many interpretations of what elephants symbolize throughout the world and for different places they can have different interpretations. Overall, they are considered positive symbols focusing on good luck, protection, patience, and wisdom.
