For the last fourteen years my studio work has been focused on our fragile world waters as news stories of specific water places and issues drive me to respond. And in reverse, I scout mapping technologies for fascinating curves and twists to water places before identifying the place and the story. (There's always a story!) The detective/reporter in me converts to artist/poet when I wash push and pull color against the land/water shapes and lines. It holds true throughout my work that virtually every curving edge represents an actual place where water meets land on the skin of our only earth.

My DROPS COLLECTION is represented here as photographic prints. Each DROPS print depicts a real world object: a unique dimensional "imaginary real" water DROP. "Copper Harbor" (Michigan) is #635 in the collection of 1000 works, each created over time with acrylic medium, film, pencil and ink, (and computer and maps and tracing paper and more), then contained and protected by a 4-inch glass Petri dish. The lid of the dish is removed for the photography of each DROP. In some images you might detect a hint of the engraved number in the glass. You'll likely notice how the glass Petri dish holding each DROP "frames" the artwork and often reflects color intensities accentuated by photographer T. Maxwell Wagner's light source (just as real water would reflect light, right?)

I'm so happy to be partnering with Dolphin Archival Printing in Kansas City for your print orders. Your selections will be printed on Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag which offers an exquisite satin surface. There will be an extra 1 inch white border beyond the printed image to facilitate your matting and framing options. They are shipped from the printer in a wide and thick cardboard tube for safe arrival.

PRICING:
16" X 16" $ 90.00
22' X 22" $ 140.00

The final product will measure 18" x 18" with a white border around the 16" x 16" image size.

"Playing at the edges of our world waters."

I was born on the US East Coast and when I was very young my mother drew a flight path map of my father's business trip to Australia, by way of cities and islands. This birds-eye view of our world surely influenced my fascination with the meandering lines where water meets land across the globe. For the last fourteen years my work has been focused on our fragile world waters as news stories of specific water places and issues drive me to respond...The steep challenges and consequences are real. The balancing of poetry and politics feeds and challenges me and my work. I now live near the confluence of rivers at Kansas City, Missouri. In 2010 I left the corporate world in order to establish an art studio near the rivers and to pursue this art life which has led me to exhibit works from Brooklyn to Hawaii. My water-focused works across a wide variety of media can be found in museum, corporate and university collections, as well as private collections across the United States.
