Cool Wave Pansies Art Installation - Ball Horticultural Company, Ventura County Trade Show
Shane was commissioned by Ball Horticultural Company to create what would become The Cool Wave Pansies Art Installation that was to be featured in the Ventura County Trade Show as a unique way of celebrating the company’s agricultural success. BHC loved Shane’s iconic street art style, and wanted him to create a colorful display of flowers in that same style. The trade show was to be held at a greenhouse in Santa Barbara. Because the show was to be near the ocean, the company also liked the idea of incorporating stylized wave crests into the design. Shane developed a few concepts, and BHC ultimately chose a design that featured curling blue waves that carried a row of vibrant pansies on their crests. The in-studio design and fabrication process took about three weeks from concept to finished piece. Shane created the panels to look like a section of realistic, distressed brick wall. Shane then veneered the wall, painted the design onto the panels in spray paint, and sealed them with a clear coat before shipping them down to Santa Barbera where they would be installed at the show.
