This contemporary photography print features a beautiful large brown cow roaming the English landscape. It's a compelling piece of wall art and the ideal addition to an interior styled to a country or farmhouse theme. It's also a unique and perfect art gift for anyone with an interest in cattle/cows/bovine or farm animals on a broader level.

The photograph is inspired by the art of Dutch artist Aelbert Cuyp who painted sunlit pastoral landscapes with cows by the water in the 17th century. Those paintings have stayed with me since I first saw them in darkened lecture halls when I studied art history. On a winter walk along the coast of Northumberland, I hopped a fence to follow a public footpath and found myself face to face with my very own ‘Cuyp moment’. A herd of cattle made their way between me and the sun, the water just visible in the distance, the grasses glistening with sun and bending to the will of the wind. It was a thrilling moment, and I'm pleased this cow posed so beautifully for me.

"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them." –Elliott Erwitt
