Name: Channing
Size: 9 x 13
Age: Antique
Pile: Low with patina
About: The ever so iconic Herati design, known as the fish garden, Mahi, and/or the "love fish" design, is one of an all-over design here two fish (depicted as two leaves) are swimming around the globe (depicted as a flower) looking for one another. It's inherited by old folklore and has remained one of the most desired and sought after designs. This piece is filled with this motif, and the lack of medallion gives it an ease to work around when dealing with a fireplace etc. The unusual colored border is something noteworthy - a toasted saffrony-caramel-pistachio green giving it an earthiness toning down the soft beige in this rug. The rich deep blues are wonderful as they pair so lovely with rose, and the other many many colors in this rug. These colors, especially the border, make for a timeless yet unique rug to either spark some inspiration to decorate around or to introduce into the space to stand alone. Either way, you won't see it again as it's one of the more rare colors to dye. You will note the rug gives off an overall earthiness but still has a brightness to it in natural light; we've tried to capture both sides of the rug for you, let me know if you have any other questions about it!
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available. Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
