This stylish Bar Ware/Kitchen&Dining Wine Glasses carry the traces of traditional art that has been practiced for centuries.
They take their raw material from Anatolia's fruitful soil which has a characteristic reddish color. Then, they are shaped in very talented hands with an experience of 45 years in making pottery. Great feel in your hand! Ideal for wine, cocktails, coffee and tea...
These cups take their name of 'Drunk Glass' from a funny story about their shapes. It is said that a pottery master was working late at night while he was drinking wine. He was so tired; and with the help of that and wine he fell asleep. The cup that he was making before falling asleep took a shape like that (I mean the pits on it's surface) in his hands accidently. After that, these cups became famous in the region and called as 'Drunk Glass'.
Pottery is a traditional art made in Cappadocia in the centre of Anatolia since ancient times. It's masters shape the soil with their hands and bake it in traditional wood ovens. It takes it's natural reddish color from the pigments of Kızılırmak (Redriver). Kızılırmak (Redriver) is born and raised in the territory of Turkey, it is the longest river pours into the sea again from the territory of Turkey. Locals of Cappadocia have been taking the clay of Kızılırmak since the Hittite period and using it to make household products.
You can use these cups for coffee, tea or wine...We kept them natural so they are not varnished or glazed.
We recommend you to clean them with hot water in the first few washes. Please do not to use detergent especially for the first 3-4 use or not to wash in the dish washer because they have an unvarnished natural surface, it can absorb detergent. After few washes with only hot water, you safely use detergent or wash them in the dish washer.
We will pack it properly to be delivered safely. Additionally, we can make a gift package for you with a note card. If you deliver your message to us it will be attached to the gift box.
