Made using porcelain and mixed media fibers, this wall sculpture is an interwoven mix of hard and soft, representing a closed form of woven structure. Scalable in number of curves and woven connection points, this piece can be as small as four curves and larger than 16 curves. It can be customized via scale, glaze and fiber color, as well as type of textile process: twined or wrapped fibers. The work is a sure statement piece, adding a pop of graphic and dimensional pattern to any interior wall space.
The work hangs easily via keyholes embedded in the porcelain curves.

traditional craft media and methods reimagined through a contemporary lens

Eliza Bentz is a fiber artist and sculptor from the barrier islands of Southeast Georgia. She works with natural, repurposed, and found materials to create fine art and objects. Her work is concerned with the intersection of craft history and industrialization and is made as a means to reclaim tactility and agency in a world concerned with consumption and convenience.

Bentz completed her BFA in fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017 and has since gone on to exhibit both nationally and internationally in Georgia, North Carolina, London, and Provence. Her work resides in both residential and commercial spaces across the United States. She is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where she also teaches weaving.
