Personal encounters with the natural world help us develop awareness and appreciation of our environment. My painting uses an abstract visual language to invite viewers to rethink the world around them. Sensual, ugly, beautiful, crazy, it’s all there to be taken in and dealt with. Whether it’s paint, pencil, crayon, ink, graphite, or non traditional materials, my work reflects the power of nature and my optimism that we are all forces of change for the better. I paint because art has the capacity to inspire, fill us with wonder, and most importantly, offer us a sense of hope.
