This surreal portrait of an enigmatic face peering out of a white hibiscus flower, is at once illogical yet stunningly beautiful. I used double exposure, photo manipulation and digital painting to create this work. In surrealism, even though the usual rules no longer apply, it is still possible to to arrive at a sense of harmony through the use of color, focus points and the placement of objects. Digitally blending the objects in the image, or parts of them, adds to the sense of harmony of the whole.
Metal & Acrylic Print
The work is 36” x 48” in size and is printed onto smooth metal. After printing, the printed face of the metal is then covered with a 1/2” thick sheet of optically clear polished, premium acrylic. The inherent quality of both metal and acrylic to reflect light, gives these prints a jaw-dropping luminous effect, transforming the print into the ultimate statement piece. The print is hung with 4 Stainless steel mounting posts at each corner. An additional two mounting posts in the center keeps the artwork rigid.
