THE SYCAMORE AT BLACKBERRY FARM / BLACKBERRY MOUNTAIN - INTERIOR MURAL

Blackberry Farm contacted me about painting an interior mural for a new restaurant called Sycamore bar at their Blackberry Mountain location.

They wanted something in the realm of graffiti meets nature inspired with a lot of organic linework. We worked together closely to come up with the vision they were looking for, as the backdrop to the Sycamore.

Sycamore is the casual and eclectic counterpoint to Three Sisters. Open for lunch and conveniently located in the lower level of the Lodge at the heart of the Mountain, the Sycamore flows outdoors onto the dining terrace and beyond to the pool deck. The relaxed experience here features shareable plates, salads, grain bowls, burgers and tacos – all showcasing our local produce, served against the stunning backdrop of the Great Smoky Mountains.

More about Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain here:
As the sun rises over the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, the morning mist fades to unveil one of America's greatest hidden treasures, Blackberry Farm. Its 4,200 acres have been a mountain haven and tranquil escape for family, friends and guests for more than 80 years as it evolved into a luxurious resort of breathtaking scenery, decadent cuisine and pleasurable pastimes. Today, as one of America's most celebrated intimate luxury hotels Blackberry beckons discerning guests who aspire to escape modern-day frenzy and slip into a Blackberry® state of mind.

A COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

A practice of honoring, protecting and preserving the land we love is of paramount importance to our team. Across the Mountain you’ll notice our work to be environmentally conscious in ways big and small. No tiny plastic straws. Structures built from stone, repurposed directly from the Mountain. Personal water vessels provided for guests to help to reduce single-use plastics. Every effort is made to treat the Mountain with the same care and respect we offer our guests. Our team is passionate about sustainability and excited to grow and evolve our efforts as we settle into the Mountain.

Originally from Los Angeles, Nathan relocated to Nashville when he was 11 years old and endured a major culture shock. Embracing the transition between cities through painting graffiti and exploring new territories through skateboarding travels, motivated Nathan artistically.

In the late 90’s he drew inspiration from these passions, using color and form to play with perspective. Positioned at the intersection of abstractionism and street art, Nathan has transitioned this style into the studio and on multi story buildings across the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to mural work, Nathan had an extensive career in experiential marketing, promoting and producing concerts / festivals and events for

Live Nation, Golden Voice (Coachella), AEG Presents and Disney, in which he marketed & promoted over 5000 shows over the course of 15 years.

Nathan has created over 150 large scale commissioned murals for both communities around the country and also for brands such as Red Bull, Wrangler, Patagonia, Top Golf, WeWork, Google, Spotify, to name a few, the goal has always been the same since day one, to bring people, places and communities together through public art, transforming and creating new spaces where there were none before.

Nathan primarily paints large scale public art on the streets, as well as indoor private commissions and is currently based in Chattanooga, TN.
