The Baton chair is a refined dining chair that blends a clean Mid-Century inspired aesthetic with traditional materials and joinery techniques. Each piece is handcrafted to order in our Ottawa studio.
The Baton is built using mortise and tenon joints throughout the frame to ensure long-term durability. Meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout the stool’s design and construction.
The seat and back are both gently contoured for comfort. Oak pegs reinforcing the back panel are visible from the front and make for an understated accent. The seat is padded with high-density foam and wrapped in a lightly-textured wool-blend upholstery fabric.
The Baton’s rounded feet are equipped with integral nylon glides to ensure the chair slides easily on any surface.
The oak frame is treated with a hand-rubbed oil finish. This low-lustre natural finish contains no VOCs and protects the wood without obscuring the look and feel of the material.
