This artwork is stunning in person. Have a peek at the details! My inspiration were flowering plants Apiaceae, in particular the white “weed” of the celery, carrot, parsley family. Sometimes weeds can be stunning! I sliced out sections of metal-framed heavy plastic panels and free motion machine embroidered them with a unique thread that resembles cobwebbing. Free motion machine embroidery is a way of using a sewing machine to draw, paint and layer with thread. I added a delicate, textural paper. The panels can be hung any way you wish, and they are interchangeable, so you become my co-creator! Think of them in different formats- a single row, more horizontal, separated to hang in different rooms, there are many possibilities! L hook screws are provided. Materials: Plastic, metal-framed panels, thread, assorted Japanese hand made papers. Technique: Free Motion machine embroidery.
