I am a studio potter working out of my home in Falls Church, Virginia. I have lived in Virginia since 1975 when my family immigrated to the U.S. I was eight years old when we left Vietnam.
After graduating with an Economics degree from the University of Virginia, I had several jobs in both the private and public sector. When I realized that having a desk job was not for me, I decided to go back to school. I finished with a master's degree in education from George Mason University and worked for Arlington Public Schools. I taught Health and Physical Education in various county schools for 12 years.
While working as a teacher, I started taking pottery classes at Northern Virginia Community College. I gravitated toward the potter's wheel and became fascinated with crystalline glazes. What started out as a hobby eventually turned into a passion and a third career. I love the freedom of being an artist and having the opportunity to share my work.
