The first mural ""Amador"", boasts the brand name large with Cuban-native flora, and calls out ""la ventinita"", the walk-up window open for late-night takeout. At roughly 15 feet tall by 25 feet wide, this wall's simplicity is eye-catching, on brand and functions as a beacon for where the entrance of Amador is located.
The second mural, ""Viva Cuba"" is about 30 feet wide and 10 feet tall. This mural was a modern take on classic Cuban street art, and depicts a Cuban car, quintessential architecture (which hides the unsightly fire exit doors), birds of paradise leaves, palm trees, and a Cuban woman with a drink in front of the words ""Viva Cuba"" meaning: ""Long Live Cuba""
These murals are unique in that they tread the line between branding, wayfinding and signage. Murals that combine typography and illustrations such as these help communicate a sense of place in an instant and make Amador a destination for not only food but for an Instagrammable moment."
"Amador is a Cuban-inspired restaurant in Newport On The Levee, Newport, Kentucky's mixed-use destination home to retailers and restaurants, and national experience-driven brands. The two murals were created to work in conjunction with the logo design, visual identity system and signage that we created for the brand.
